Dog-Friendly Beaches in Tybee Island, Georgia
Tybee is a small, low-key island twenty minutes from Savannah, but it is strict about dogs on the sand. The beach itself is closed to pets, and the dog-friendly version of a Tybee trip is the island's off-beach park, the walkable village, and pairing it with Savannah's exceptionally dog-friendly patio scene.
Leash rules and seasonal restrictions
Dogs are not permitted on Tybee Island's beach or the beach-access crossovers; the ordinance is actively enforced with fines. The island maintains an off-leash dog park as an alternative, and leashed dogs are welcome on most streets and many patios.
