Myrtle Beach operates on a clear seasonal split: dogs are restricted from the main beach during peak daytime hours in summer, and welcome the rest of the year and outside those hours. Plan an early-morning or evening beach walk in July, or come in spring or autumn and have the sand largely to yourself.
Leash rules and seasonal restrictions
Myrtle Beach restricts dogs on the beach during daytime hours from mid-May through mid-September, permitting them early morning and evening; outside that season dogs are generally allowed on leash at any hour. Surfside Beach and North Myrtle Beach set their own similar seasonal schedules.
